FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are you based and do you deliver?

My home bakery is in Salt Rock, Dolphin Coast; South Africa and I bake weekdays for menu orders and have a Friday special every week. Orders are collected from my bakery with kerbside collection.

How far in ADVANCE do I need to order?

I request three days in advance order, this gives me time to plan and execute the baking. Some items take quite a bit of time, baking is not a process you can rush.

do your products contain nuts?

Yes, several of our bakes contain nuts and we use nuts in the kitchen.

do you have a gluten free/ sugar free RANGE?

Unfortunately that is a whole different kind of baking and I am not an expert in mixing flours to get awesome bakes. Our scones are sugar free, and great for savory or sweet toppings. Most of our bakes contain gluten.

how does payment work?

A 50% deposit is paid via EFT to confirm your order. Balance of is due on the day before delivery day.

Do you use butter or margarine?

I only use butter, unless the recipe calls for cream. Butter has a unique flavour that you just can’t get from margarine

Do you make wedding cakes?

Not unless you want to follow the new trend of a cheesecake for your wedding!

Do you make novelty cakes like in heart shapes or characters?

No, I like to focus on taste and freshness, so while each item is gloriously appetizing - I don’t offer novelty shaping and icing.

How fresh are your bakes?

I complete bakes specifically for delivery days. So if you want to collect in the morning, it will be made the night before. If you want to collect in the afternoon it will be baked that morning. The exceptions will be cheesecakes - which need to chill for several hours and pastry bases as they need freezing and additional baking times.

How will be goodies be packaged?

I make use of cardboard cakes, muffins and cookie boxes. Full-size cakes are packed in disposable cardboard cake boxes. Some regulars like to give me their own containers to pack in to avoid disposable packaging and I am very happy to do so.
